Why isn’t God helping me?
I have severe insomnia that is starting to affect my marriage, job and health. I have tried every kind of medical and psychological treatment available and nothing worked. I have put a lot of faith in the Lord that he will help me. I have prayed and begged for him to give me at least a little relief. I am starting to lose faith…….I feel like he is so far away from me. What can I do? people, READ THE QUESTION! I HAVE seen a doctor, taken pills, had psychotherapy. I have been on diets recommended by sleep disorders clinic. Am very very healthy, the reasons for the insomnia is the psychological cycle.
The first thing I am going to do is PRAY for you. I will also be asking many people on my prayer chain to start praying for you RIGHT NOW!!! You are experiencing a direct attack on your life and body from the powers of darkness. Remember dear one that we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. I want to say something to you now which may surprise you. There are satanic spiritual forces at work, which NEED TO BE BROUGHT TO NAUGHT in The Name of Jesus and I with all my intercessory prayer team will be doing spiritual warfare on your behalf. Remember that: 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; The reason NO TREATMENT is working is because this is a SPIRITUAL BATTLE. STOP LISTENING TO THE LIES OF THE ENEMY and STAY FOCUSED ON JESUS. You have NO NEED to be begging God, because God heard you the first time you called upon The Name of Jesus. I want you to search your heart and see if there is anything which you will know and believe is standing in your way of God answering your cries for help. ANY sin issues which you KNOW of in your life, (AND I AM NOT SAYING YOU HAVE ANY)…repent of them. It is impossible for God to move on your behalf if there is anything which you know could hinder you from receiving your answer to prayer. Do you harbor A N Y unforgiveness in your heart towards ANYONE??? You may well know this scripture: Ephesians 4:32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you. If there is ANYONE you have not forgiven, go before the throne of grace and ask God for His forgiveness and FORGIVE the person or persons who ave done you wrong, then most importantly, FORGIVE YOURSELF TOO. So many people do not realise that this is a crucial part of forgiveness. God is not far from you at all, HE is right there with you now and waiting to minister into your circumstances and set you free from anything which separates you from Him. I sense in my spirit that there is also FEAR at work in your life and where FEAR is in operation, FAITH cannot operate. Speak out this verse every time you know that the enemy is attacking you: 2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. The devil will try telling you that it won’t work, but I assure you in The Name of Jesus of Nazareth that the devil will soon leave you alone if you persist in speaking The Word of God against his vile and destructive works. Remind him that: Isaiah 54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD The devil has no part in your life and he can no longer have any control over or in your life. In The Name of Jesus I come against your works satan and command you to desist right now. I exercise my right under the authority of The Lord Jesus Christ and covering of The Precious Blood of Jesus, to take your hands off this child of God. I bind ALL your evil works and I command you to leave her / him alone from this day forward. I pray heavenly Father that you will release ministering angels RIGHT NOW, to come and surround, protect and minister to this child of yours. This I pray in and through The Name above all names, The Name of your Son, The Lord Jesus Christ. Deliverance is on the way dear child of God. Do not forget to speak out The Word against anything which would seek to trouble your mind. God Bless Edward

Try reading the Bible or praying while trying to fall asleep. Sometimes the enemy would rather put you to sleep than have you read the Word or talk to the Father. Either way, keep persevering! The Lord Loves you and will never forsake you!

dont you see that he is testing you. you just said that you are starting to lose faith. that is a test. keep your faith and keep praying. he answers prayers if it is his will. maybe not at the exact moment you want but he does. he loves you so much

You must first help yourself.
I have a friend who is an insomniac.
He does little projects during the night and sleeps about 4 hours a night.
Maybe something is stressing you out and you should find ways to relax. Don't have caffeine, tea, pop, after 6pm, and try to get on a regular diet. Some of these things can affect you.
Find a boring book to read and have warm milk?

You are obviously thinking about it too much. Relax, pray. Remembers prayers dont get answered instantly. There is a reason God is waiting. You need to learn from what ever you going through.
If he far from you thats because your letting that happen. Read from bible daily, pray, meet with other christians.

Im srry to hear that. Do u have any problems which has caused insomnia? I hope God will heal asap. ask ur friends to pray for ur insomnia. let's just keep praying.let u not end up badly. we don't know when he begin working on u…I believe many ppl have the same situation…faith is crucial for praying to God. maybe it takes time.

I don't think your problem is with god I think it is probably your Diet if you are putting junk in your Temple(body)you cant expect God to come and clean house for you.

Your about to get a break through don't loose the faith he is watching you,You must have alot on your mind,and lack of sleep means a open door for the Devil.So lock yourself away ,take a nice bath take a couple of Tylenol p.m.Get in bed read the bible and when you pray ask him to give you peace ,say Lord Iam tired i cant go on like this I need you to help me now,In Jesus name.Look at Job in the bible he always praised god had everything never would his faith wavier,then the Devil comes and says to God you know if you do take this away and that and maybe give him some boils,I bet he would curse you,So for Jobs test he went through alot
and never once said a a bad thing toward God,and in the end he gave it all back ,and cleared up his boils.you will get double for your trouble with God.you'll be fine

However God has already done what he intends to do for you by giving his son as a ransom that you will be resurrected to a world where there will be no sickness or death.Isi 33:24 In the meantime he has also provided gifts in men such as doctors, so for now why not go to them. and keep your eye of faith on the prize to come. God thinks in terms of eternity and not for the few months of life you have now.

It's interesting to note that from the tone of your post, you seem to be very anxious, which is perfectly understandable. Insomnia is no fun at all. You have my sincere wishes for a good night's sleep.
Stress can play a major role in loss of sleep, so the first thing you want to do is relax. Meditation or prayer can help you achieve this by clearing your mind and helping you to focus. In this case, you don't want to focus on sleeping, as that will cause more anxiety and defeat the purpose. What you want to do is focus on relaxation.
Before retiring to your bedroom, light some scented candles (lavender is nice) and draw a warm bath. Soak your cares away while sipping some chamomile tea. Put your head back on an inflatable pillow, close your eyes, and think only positive thoughts and images.
Imagine a field of wildflowers, a snow-capped mountain, or the rhythmic rocking of the sunlit sea. While still warm from your bath, slip into your bed, and continue with positive thinking. It would be helpful to have a fan humming softly, as white noise is very soothing.
Here's where meditation and prayer enter into the picture. Since you are a believer, may I suggest that you repeat to yourself Psalm 23: The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want….
Recite this quietly over and over, asking God for nothing and making no bargains. Simply surrender.
Worrying about a problem that can be solved serves no useful purpose, especially if you have taken the steps to solve it.
When you cannot solve a problem, why worry? Give it up to God, and trust in Him to see you through.
These techniques work for me. I suffer chronic, excruciating pain due to rheumatoid arthritis, yet I take no pain relievers and sleep soundly each night. When my pain is at it's worst I tend to sleep my best. That's how I cope.
