Whats the best way to get better sleep at night if you have insomnia?
I am 19 years old and I can't seem to fall asleep at night. My parents said I had this problem since I was a baby. I try to go to bet at like 11:00 but I can't fall asleep until like 3 or 4 in the morning. Could this be insomnia?

Are you tired? Do you have a sleep routine? when you fall asleep at 3 or 4, what time do you wake up? do you feel rested? are you in school? can you change your classes to different times? I keep my room, quiet, dark with blackout shades, cool, comfortable sheets. sometimes I fall asleep w TV on, but learned to use sleep timer. Have you tried Benadryl, 25mg? Do you drink a lot of bev w caffiene? Mtn Dew, or energy drinks? or coffee/espresso? Do you exercise? there are sleep meds, Ambien CR, Restoril, Xanax, even Unisom otc, Do you drink alcohol before going to sleep. sometimes this has an opposite effect. Talk with doc about your situation and hopefully you can get some rest.
