How to reduce the stress caused by insomnia?

by Chris ·

I'm asking this on behalf of my friend who is some what suffering from insomnia and this is really affecting her stress rate. Her mom always asks her to sleep at 7pm when she isn't tired and she ends up staring into mid air blankly in the middle of the night. And this is really adding to her stress rate. Please help by giving some suggestions >.< thank you.

Hi,
You can find something useful to do.

Anyway you can not sleep! Then at least find something useful to do and the pleasure for having done something helpful to other people helps balancing stress.

Another good effect is that when you do something else than usual you might forget about your casual problems which do not let you feel how tired you really are. This is the best way to get easily asleep!

i have like that same problem except i don't have a really crazy mom; i either drink a couple of energy drinks at about 8and line up a major caffein crash for like 12:30(they have to be high caffeine ones (like not monster or red bull they gotta be nos or rockstar roasted or something)) or i take4 benadryl before i go to bed; it's gotta be bad for you but if you never sleep your gonna be stupid and stressed out.

    Hard question,

She needs to tell her mom about her problem. This is the first step, that way she can get this off her chest. Then I would try to find an answer for her insomnia. Do a search online for sleeping techniques. Don't use pills, they never work in the long run. Always look for natural sleep. Remember, even tho a sleeping technique works for one person, doesn't mean it's going to work for her. Everybody is different so everybody reacts to different sleeping techniques.

Make sure she doesn't watch tv or play video games before bed, your brain is still stimulated after the tv is off. Good balanced diet is another big factor. That's a start for her.

Insomnia is not fun. I am also a insomniac so I understand about staying up and just staring at the ceiling. I found my answer by writing down my thoughts, the reason being my insomnia was cause by my brain never shutting down. I took the next step and started my own blog for all the thoughts I write.

This is my answer and my outlet. I hope she finds hers. I hope this helps.
