5 Ways to a Good Nights Sleep

In todayâ??s world of high tech medicine you would think that getting a good nights sleep would be the easiest thing in the world, but rarely is that the case many people have a hard time drifting off to sleep while others seem to zone out when their head hits the pillow they are the lucky ones. The rest of us may have to suffer with tossing and turning for several hours before finally drifting off to sleep. There are some basic dos and donâ??ts that can aid must of us in falling to sleep faster and getting better nights sleep.

First off you really need to watch what you consume not only just prior going to bed but even what you had for lunch can affect some people. Believe it or not the effects of caffeine may stay in your body for up to twelve hours, which is a little ironic that coke or cup of coffee that keeps you going in the middle of the afternoon may well be what is keeping you up at night causing you to be tired needing that caffeine in the afternoon it is a vicious cycle you may want to try and stay away from caffeinated drinks after lunch to try and see if you can fall asleep faster.

The atmosphere of your bedroom also can hinder your ability to get a restful night sleep. If at all possible do not have your home office in your bedroom it is a good idea to limit your bedroom for sleep. Keeping the computer and television out of the bedroom will help limit distractions and after awhile you will get accustomed to the fact that this room is for sleeping not thinking about work or what you have to do tommorrow.

That last cigarette or that smoking that good cigar prior to going to bed will also have and adverse effect on your ability to fall asleep and having a glass of wine or other alcoholic drink can have a negative effect even though alcohol is a depressant in a few hour the alcohol can cause you to wake up and toss and turn in the night.

So what does work well some foods and drinks can help you fall asleep faster the food that help contain L-tryptophan which is an amino acid that most doctors believe helps with sleep milk is one good source of L-tryptophan so maybe warm milk is a good idea. Other foods that contain tryptophan are poultry such as chicken and especially turkey so a great bedtime snack would be a turkey sandwich and a glass of milk give it a try it may work for you.

One aspect of waking up feeling refreshed is actually sleeping through the night. Try to eliminate as many obstacles that stand in the way of sleeping soundly does your dog or cat feel the need to share the bed with you? Do they wake you up during the night? If so you may want to train them to sleep someplace else. Donâ??t set the alarm extra early just so you can hit the snooze button it is far better to sleep for a longer period than in short cat naps.

    What are some good ways to get a good nights sleep at 33 weeks?
    I find it hard to get comfortable and when i lie down my lungs are really squashed and i find it a lot harder to breath. I am wondering if there are any herbal remidies that are safe to use or just a way to get into a position that is comfortable. I am only getting a couple of hours sleep a night and with working full time i am exhausted.

    Try laying down on your side with a pillow in between your legs. That always helped me with my baby.

    I am right behind you at 32 weeks and I can't sleep well either.

    You can try chamomile tea, warm milk or lavender lotion to help sleep, but not much else is considered safe.

    Try putting two pillows behind your shoulders to help keep the baby out of your lungs. I had luck putting a bulky pillow behind me and laying back on it like I am trying to lay on my back but I am not quite flat. You can also try a pseudo stomach sleep with a body pillow propping you up.

    Sorry to say that I don't think there is much solid rest from here on out. When it gets really bad you can try a recliner if you have one.

    I had to sleep on my side with my back either pressed up against my husband or against the edge of the bed. (I have a water bed) or with a pillow in just the right place. sleeping on my back made it hard to breathe and sometimes hurt my back too. With all the reajusting and moving around it would take about 10 or so hours to get about 8 hours of sleep, but at least I knew my husband was tossed around a bit too. :O)

    I would sleep on my left side with a pillow under my head and a pillow in between my knees.. gosh that was comfy!

    I personally would not take any preparations unless they were prescribed by my doctor.

    I hope you dont have to work much longer as you will be exhausted by the time labour comes along.

    Wow for me it was numb arms, there weren't enough pillows in the world that helped me, but believe it or not sleeping in my Lazy Boy helped for a day or two, i had one pillow on each side of my tummy for support, one between the legs and a neck pillow, it kept me a little more upright good luck, you know you only get to sleep when the baby sleeps after he or she is born best of luck.

    You need to relieve soe of the pressure when you are lying down. The best way I found was to sleep at an angle. Try getting some big fluffy pillows. Lots of them. Build yourself a slant. Not quite sitting, not quite lying down. You'll want to make sure you give yourself plenty of back and side support. You could also try getting some of those bed risers to lift up the head part of your bed.

    the only way i can sleep is if i position a bunch of pillows so that i am on an incline and lay on my side i find that helps a little bit with the breathing. Also if you have extra blankets or pillows wrap your legs around them that sometimes helps too. Hope this helps a little bit although i know there isnt much you can do and it sucks!

    they say to stay away from herbs when youre pregnant they arent sure of the effects. I do progressive muscle relaxtion which helps my aches and then place a pillow under my belly and behind my back and in between my legs. i also elevate my feet and drink a glass of warm milk. it helps until i have to get up and pee and then have to reposition myself. good luck i'm 34 weeks and i feel your pain.

    i got 2 body pillow cause they go flat fast have them in a case slept on my side mostly. or with lots a pillow behind my back to keep me kinda reclined …buti'm a mover and a bed hog i hear …lol i also fould if u could have some thing against my back would help….now its the only way i can sleeplol.
